Terms of Service
These Terms ("Terms") are an agreement between you ("you") and Middle East Software Solutions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15913819 ("we", "us", "htmldrop"). They govern your use of the htmldrop website, applications, and APIs (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, dropping a file anonymously, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What htmldrop does
htmldrop lets you publish a static HTML or Markdown file to a unique URL that you can share. We host that file, serve it over HTTPS, and optionally let you lock it behind a password or extend its lifetime by upgrading your plan.
2. Accounts
You can use the Service anonymously (no account) for short-lived drops, or you can create an account by providing an email address and password. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think your account has been compromised.
You must be at least 13 years old to use htmldrop. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Plans, fees and refunds
We offer a free tier and one or more paid plans (e.g. Pro). Current pricing and what each plan includes is on our pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe; by paying you also agree to Stripe's terms.
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from the dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals; the plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for. We do not normally refund partial periods. If you believe you've been charged in error, email [email protected] within 14 days and we'll review it.
4. Your content
Anything you upload — HTML files, Markdown source, images, the slug name you pick — remains yours. By uploading it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, transmit, render, and back up that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. You can revoke this licence at any time by deleting the content (subject to short backup retention windows).
You're responsible for the content you upload. You confirm you have the right to upload it and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use htmldrop to:
- publish malware, phishing pages, scam pages, cryptocurrency draining sites, or anything that intentionally harms visitors;
- host or distribute content that is unlawful where you live or where we operate (UK), including child sexual abuse material, incitement to violence, threats, or content that breaches sanctions;
- infringe copyright, trade marks, or other intellectual property;
- operate a public file-sharing service, image host, or static-asset CDN for another site (htmldrop is for sharing your own pages, not a free hosting backbone);
- send unsolicited bulk email or messages linking back to drops;
- attempt to break, probe, or overload the Service or interfere with other users' drops;
- scrape the Service or reverse-engineer our APIs except as permitted by law;
- resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
We may suspend or remove any drop or account that breaks these rules, with or without notice depending on how serious the breach is. Report abuse to [email protected] — we'll act on credible reports quickly.
6. Anonymous drops and expiry
Anonymous drops expire after 7 days and are deleted shortly after. Free-plan
drops carry a rolling 30-day lifetime that extends automatically whenever you
sign in. If you stop using the Service, your drops will eventually be
deactivated (served as 410 Gone) and then permanently deleted.
Paid plans don't have a lifetime cap while the subscription is active.
We will not store anonymous drops indefinitely on your behalf. If you need something to stick around, sign up — signing up while your anonymous cookie is still valid claims those drops into your account.
7. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if we're required to by law, or after a long period of inactivity (we'll try to email you first). On closure we'll delete your drops within 30 days, although limited back-up and log data may persist for a further short period as set out in our Privacy Policy.
8. Availability and changes
We try hard to keep htmldrop running, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Where a change is significantly to your disadvantage and you're on a paid plan, we'll let you know in advance and you can cancel for a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
9. No warranties (so far as the law allows)
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Except where the law gives you rights that can't be limited (and your statutory rights aren't affected), we don't make any other warranties — including that the Service will meet your specific requirements or be suitable for any particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that can't be limited under English law.
Subject to that, our total liability to you in any 12-month period — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in that period, or (b) £100. We are not liable for loss of profits, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have under UK GDPR. By using the Service you acknowledge the Privacy Policy applies.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we'll post the new version with a fresh effective date and, if you have an account, email you at least 14 days before the new version takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute, except that if you're a consumer resident in another part of the UK or in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
